It’s gone quiet out there. And I don’t get shit done even though I have so much time on my hand.
There was this plan, all these projects. Now on hold due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Most of the local shops are closed and curfews. This prevents me from getting some components and materials. I don’t want to buy all the stuff from Amazon, AliExpress or others and instead support local business in my area in this tough times.
Ender 3 case
I’ve planned to finish my 3D Printer case which is a remix of a great idea I’ve seen on Thingiverse. You can check it out here: IKEA Lack Enclosure. A very nice DIY enclosure for the Ender 3 originally designed for the Prusa printer. The base consists of 2 stacked IKEA Lack tables, one of which is upside down. For which the missing parts are acrylic glass panes and some hinges.
There is a Raspberry Pi mounted to the side of the printer for a future OctoPrint setup with an infrared camera. With this a can control and monitor the printer on my local network without walking down 2 floors to the basement and then back up again.
That’s it for today’s post. I will write a little about the electronic parts like lighting, temperature and humidity sensing of the enclosure in the next days.
